96 BITTER BEINGS
Original CKY founder, songwriter, and frontman Deron Miller of West Chester rock band CKY which spent the better half of 2 decades touring the world and selling over 1 million records. They did the entire North American Chinese Democracy tour opening for Guns N Roses as well as opening for Metallica in San Francisco, in 2003. His music has been featured in video games such as Tony Hawk Pro Skater as well as television and movies like MTV's Jackass, Viva La Bam, and the 2021 Netflix series Untold: Crimes & Penalties featuring Miller's work as part of their soundtrack.
Deron Miller gives his life to the riff. Unrestrained by industry expectations and genre limitations, the boundlessly prolific guitarist and voice behind multiple beloved projects is best known as the founder, frontman, and songwriter of CKY. His authentic and effortlessly hooky heavy rock obsession returns with 96 BITTER BEINGS. Reinvigorated and ready to rumble all over again, Miller roars back with the same reverence for riffage that made underground hits out of CKY anthems like “Flesh Into Gear,” “Escape from Hellview,” and “Disengage the Simulator” from 1998 to 2011.
The familiar warmth, feel, groove, and unapologetic honesty that drove the song “96 Quite Bitter Beings” to 77 million streams (on Spotify alone) permeates the pair of albums unleashed by 96BB.
96 Bitter Beings carries Miller's signature CKY sound under the new moniker. His unique riff writing had a heavy influence on a generation, which featured single-note riffing with a fat octave fuzz tone accompanied by unmistakable vocal melodies earning him a cult-like following worldwide. After a successful crowdfunding campaign, 96BB released the first album in 2018, Camp Pain, to those who contributed to the campaign. 96 Bitter Beings signed with Nuclear Blast Records in 2022 and released their second album, Synergy Restored, 11 songs of relentless power and vibe, and the first of 5 consecutive albums. Current members include Matty Janaitis (formerly of CKY) on bass and Tuomas Vuorio on drums.
